Despite the challenges this academic school year has brought us, it has been an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to be a part of this year’s Past and Present Journal as editors. Although it has not been fun to only meet over Zoom and work through publishing it electronically, editing our fellow students’ papers has been a rewarding and eye-opening experience. Being a part of this annual publication has given us insight into what it takes to be an editor, including stepping outside of one’s comfort zone while adjusting to our peers’ different writing styles. The ability to add our three names onto the long list of past editors is a profound accomplishment that will extend far past college. Continual collaboration and communication throughout the semesters benefitted not only the progress of the publication, but also our skills which we can take with us in our future endeavors. All of the papers in this year’s journal are the culmination of York College students’ hard work and a portrayal of our campus’s diverse interests and disciplines. We are thankful for the guidance and assistance that Dr. Krug has provided us during these past semesters and hope the readers take the time to read each unique and well-researched work, and enjoy them as much as we did.
